It’s that time of year when dreams of becoming the next great Hollywood scriptwriter blindside many NFL content teams as they carefully craft their witty schedule release videos and attempt to take what appears to be funny on paper and make it actually funny on video.
Yes, the 2024 NFL schedule release Super Bowl for NFL content teams has arrived. Just like Patrick Mahomes last season, this NFL content team had a pretty subpar regular season. Still, when the content release playoffs started, they quickly moved to the front of the pack, and for the second year in a row, the Los Angeles Chargers content team has left the rest in the dust.
Coming in 2nd is the Philadelphia Eagles content team that nailed it with a therapy session for its out-of-control fans. The Eagles' content team clearly is in tune with their fans.
Third place was actually pretty difficult to figure out; yes, the Patriots brought in Julian Edelman and Gronk for some help with their video, which, at times, was funny. The Commanders thought it would be funny to play a cake or no cake game in their video. The Titans went to the streets to ask questions. The Cowboys used Post Malone, Dak Prescott, Jerry Jones, Michael Irvin, and others to surprise celebrities with Facetime calls. The Falcons tried to do what the Chargers do but failed, and the Steelers rolled out the fear of James Harrison sitting across from players who attempted to make him laugh.
That said, third place goes to the Miami Dolphins for their ironic 20-second schedule release, which features the fastest man in football, Tyreek Hill.
Finally, the Texans and Chiefs both rolled out hydraulic press videos in which their opponents get crushed. The worst team in football, the Carolina Panthers, steered clear of actually talking about football with some of its players painting portraits, but by far the worst video goes to the Arizona Cardinals, who gave us 57 seconds of some cool art being painted on an outside wall before flashing their schedule up for 3 seconds.
The Arizona Cardinals made no effort at all. Hopefully, their schedule release video isn’t foreshadowing their upcoming season!
