With the NBA play-in and playoffs right around the corner, it should be pretty easy for everyone to agree that the Boston Celtics are the best team in the Eastern Conference right?

Well, during a recent podcast, Shaquille O'Neal went in the opposite direction for some strange bizarre reason stating that he believes the most overrated team heading into the playoffs is the Boston Celtics.

"Boston," he told Adam Lefkoe, naming the Celtics as the most overrated team.

Lefkoe did the right thing and went on to say the Celtics have the best record in the NBA - 62-17, 6 games better in the win column than the Denver Nuggets, and 39-3 at home at the time of this article.

"Yeah, but you gotta show me," O'Neal said. "I've been around this league a long time, I've seen a lot of guys who have had a great regular season, but they don't win championships."

Lefkoe brought up the Bucks and Nuggets and mentioned that had both overcome the label of "regular-season team" over the last few years, going on runs to win the championship.

O'Neal said that the reason they were able to win was because Giannis Antetokounmpo and Nikola Jokic dominated their opponents and because they raised their level of play in the postseason.

"You have to go to another level," said O'Neal. "Then you need the optional others to have out-of-worldly games."

THE UNDERRATED LINE:
Shaq brings up some good points, but to call a team that has won 6 more games than any other team in the NBA overrated is a stretch, even for Shaq. Now if the Celtics fall on their sword and don't at least make it to the NBA Finals this year, Shaq will be proven correct.
