For the second time in three years, Scottie Scheffler wins the Masters Tournament.

As Scheffler finished his Masters performance at hole No. 18, CBS' Jim Nantz did what Nantz does best and summed up the momentous occasion with a memorable broadcast call. “His stardom confirmed,” Nantz said as Scheffler celebrated with caddie Ted Scott.

The World's No. 1 ranked player remained in control at Augusta National, fending off challenges from several contenders to finish four shots ahead of Sweden's Ludvig Åberg. Ultimately, Scheffler lived up to his billing as the favorite at the 88th Masters, delivering a memorable performance with a final round of four-under 68. This effort propelled him to an overall score of 11-under, securing his third tour victory in over a month.

His win also earned him a significant share of the Masters-record $20 million prize purse, taking home $3.6 million. Both of Scheffler's major wins have come at the Masters. In the final round, Scheffler made seven birdies, the most by a Masters champion since Nick Faldo (8 in 1989).

This victory places him among the elite ranks of golfers, making him the fourth-youngest player to win the Masters twice, a feat achieved previously only by Jack Nicklaus, Seve Ballesteros, and Tiger Woods. Additionally, Scheffler joins the exclusive company of Nicklaus and Woods as the only player to have won two Player Championships and two green jackets.

The Texan had promised to withdraw from the tournament if his wife Meredith went into labor, as her due date was anticipated to be in the coming weeks.

“I’m coming home. I’ll be home as quick as I can. I love you,” Scheffler replied when asked by Augusta National chairman Fred Ridley if he had a message for his wife.

“You’re about to make me cry here in Butler Cabin. It’s a very special time for both of us. I can’t put into words what it means to win this tournament again. I really can’t put into words what it’s going to be like to be a father for the first time.

“I’m looking forward to getting home and celebrating with Meredith. It's been a long week here without her.”

Scheffler debuted on the PGA Tour as a 17-year-old amateur, with his sister caddying for him. A decade later, he won the Masters TWICE and earned over $58 million in his career—already in the top 10 all-time.
