Nico Collins scored himself a 3-year $72 million contract extension from the Houston Texans
May 28, 2024
Deciding to make a significant investment in Houston Texans Wide Receiver Nico Collins is one of the biggest no-brainers of the offseason. Collins scored himself a 3-year $72 million contract extension from the Texans. The extension has a max value of $75 million and includes $52 million guaranteed - Collins received a $17 million signing bonus.
Can you say run to the bank, Nico?
Collins had a breakout season and was one of the NFL's most productive receivers and a favorite target of C.J. Stroud's last season. Collins had 80 catches for 1,297 yards and eight touchdowns.
Stroud and Collins helped lead the Texans to the franchise's first playoff win since 2019. However, with the trade for Stefon Diggs during the offseason, expectations for the Texans have gone from winning their division to anything short of an AFC championship appearance will be considered a disappointment.
