Franz Wagner had a lot to celebrate today as he scored himself a huge contract extension worth up to $269 million if he makes an All-NBA team. Wagner will make at least $224 million over 5 years as part of the rookie max contract extension he signed with the Orlando Magic.

Wagner averaged 19.7 points per game last season and also contributed 5.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. He has clearly turned into one of the bright young stars in the NBA, and his new deal was a no-brainer for the Orlando Magic, who are continuing to build toward becoming a true contender in the Eastern conference.

Last summer, Wagner helped lead Germany to a gold medal at the 2023 FIBA World Cup, with Franz earning All-Tournament Second Team honors for his efforts. He is expected to play for Germany at the Olympics in Paris this summer.
