To say Jonathan Nolan’s series Fallout isn’t a hit would be like saying Michael Jordan wasn’t a very good basketball player.
The series, quickly renewed for a second season, premiered 16 days ago and has since scored more than 65M viewers, making it the second most-watched series ever in that time frame on Prime Video, according to the streamer. Only the 2022 release of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power had more viewers.
Amazon says the series is particularly well-received among the key younger demographic. Within 16 days of its release, it became Prime Video’s most-watched title among the 18-34 demographic.
The streamer report also states that Fallout was the #1 title globally on Prime Video during its first 16 days (and has reached #1 in 170 countries). All of its viewers come from different areas of the world.
It is a global hit, and more than 60% of Fallout’s audience is international. With outsized performances in the UK, France, and Brazil during its first 16 days, Jonathan Nolan’s series has indeed made its mark.
ABOUT FALLOUT
Prime Video's new "Fallout" TV show is an absolute blast from the past—or should I say more accurately, a blast from the future—standing shoulder to shoulder with the other top-tier gaming adaptation in the past year, "The Last of Us."
Based on the popular role-playing game series, the show has garnered an impressive 93% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Many critics are actually gushing over its strong writing and stellar production design.
Since its debut earlier this week, fans of the gaming franchise have echoed these sentiments, praising the show's fidelity to the source material. As a longtime Fallout enthusiast, I appreciate the meticulous attention to detail and reverence for the game's world. However, after watching the first four episodes, I can't help but feel that one crucial element is missing.
